Fish2Water Weekly Swimming Lessons

fish 2 water childrens swimming classesFinding a high quality and friendly environment for your child to learn to swim in is paramount to providing both you as a parent and your child as a swimming learner with the confidence to progress.

Many local authority run swimming lessons provide classes with 12+ pupils in leading to minimal pupil to teacher contact and communication and as such a slower development.

This can often lead to a loss of confidence in the child and future inherent issues in relation to water confidence.

SSG’s Fish2Water lessons operate at a 6:1 class ratio in high quality, friendly family focused atmospheres specifically designed to provide the optimum environment for children to learn to swim in.

Our staff are specifically trained to work in close proximity to the children within the water and develop not only technique but also confidence and relationships within the water.

‘Fish2Water Swimming’ was established in 2003 with the aim of providing high quality swimming lessons in small classes for the maximum personal focus and development of all students.

We continue to provide a quality of provision which is unique in our operational area, having successfully seen hundreds of youngsters move swiftly and confidently through our class structure.

Not only do we pride ourselves on the quality of the swim teaching within ‘Fish2Water Swimming’ but also on our excellent customer service.

To assist families with two or more children swimming with us we always endeavour to place siblings in lessons at the same time or if this is not possible, in consecutive time slots.

Each child’s progression is continuously monitored, and families receive an end of term report which provides feedback about their child’s development through the term.

Classes run weekly for 30 minutes in 15 week blocks meaning a consistent and regular lesson with the same teachers each week developing confidence and working towards progressing through our badge structure at an appropriate pace.

Class Descriptions & Ability Levels

Our Starfish class is a parent and child class for 6 month – 3 years. 1 parent/adult accompanies baby into the water and works with our class teacher to learn supports and techniques to develop a stong bond, confidence and affinity within the water whilst also progressing the child to be comfortable in a range of important positions within the water in preparation for independent swimming classes.

Tiddlers (3 years +)

Our Tiddlers class is for children once they have reached the age of 3 years, these are beginner lessons without a parent/guardian.

These classes are taught by a qualified teacher and assistant who are both in the water. Instructors will use games, songs and play whilst also developing the children’s water confidence and skills.

Our Tadpoles class is aimed at beginners who are usually aged 4 ½ years to 5 years. With a maximum ratio of 6 children to 1 teacher these classes will also have the benefit of an assistant, both of which are in the pool.
